Patricia Ann Dykes

Patricia Ann Dykes of Sanford, Florida, passed away suddenly at her home on August 11, 2021. Patricia was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 26, 1942 to Wilson Paul Dorn and Margaret V. Dorn. She married her husband Wayne C. Dykes on August 12, 1963. They were married for 45 years.In 1965 Patricia and Wayne relocated to Florida with their 5 children. They settled in the Central Florida area and welcomed 3 more children into the family. Patricia and Wayne operated an Air-conditioning & Heating  business for 35 years in Sanford. Patricia loved to sew and make crafts. In the early seventies she taught ceramics to some of the students from the Sanford Navel Academy. Patricia and her family were active members of Central Baptist Church for many years. There were many wonderful memories and many friends there.Raising 8 children didn’t leave her much time for extras, but she enjoyed taking law classes at the local community college. In her later years she continued with her love of sewing and enjoying her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a member of The American Legion Post 53 Ladies Auxiliary in Sanford. Patricia is predeceased by her husband Wayne C Dykes, her son Wayne R Dykes, son Paul Dykes, daughter Robin Spangler, brother John Dorn and her parents. Patricia is survived by her daughter Wendy(James)Emory of Sanford, her sons Dale Dykes of Sanford, Toby(Molly)Dykes of Deltona, Jody(Lisa) Dykes of Knoxville as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also her very good friend Nanette Stewart, who was her sewing/craft buddy, and always there for her. A visitation will take place Thursday, August, 19, 2021 at 10am; Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Sanford, Fl; Arrangements are entrusted into the Compassionate hands of Peoples Funeral Home; 1001 E. 25th Street; Sanford, Fl 32771; Karen Y.
